How to Find Permalinks in Tumblr
We decided to put this video on Youtube purely because of the apparent lack of video specifically related to how to find the permalink on tumblr.
Even though Tumblr are making it easier to find the permalink in the dashboard, the specific link to any individual post can be difficult to find.
Finding an individual post’s permalink (slug) varies from theme to theme.
One thing to remember is your actual Tumblr blog that other people find in search engines is different to what you’re seeing in the Tumblr dashboard as you're making new posts.
You need to find your actual Tumblr blog URL as shown in the video, once you’re here, scroll down and find the post you’re looking for and, depending on the theme, you’ll see a button somewhere for the direct link to that specific post.
Once you're on that page for that specific post, the permalinks will be the web address shown in the address bar.
What is the Permalink Useful For?
Permalinks are useful for search engine optimization, to try and get a page indexed in the search engines requires you to know what the exact URL for that post is.
